Valencia CF and Banco de Alimentos help those in need at NIT NADALENCA event
Food and Christmas cheer was provided in collaboration with Obra Social La Caixa, the Federación de Caza de la Comunidad Valenciana and LaLiga
This Wednesday night, the first ever NIT NADALENCA event took place at Mestalla. Valencia CF and the Banco de Alimentos food bank distributed staple foods and Christmas products to more than 300 families, while the Federación de Caza de la Comunidad Valenciana hunting federation prepared and handed out 300 stews. The afternoon had a Christmas feel, thanks to decoration and carol singing amongst volunteers from the Banco de Alimentos and Obra Social La Caixa.

Valencia CF president Anil Murthy attended the event along with his family, and stressed to VCF MEDIA the importance of collaborating to alleviate the current food emergency situation that is one of the main consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Valencia CF are always supportive, but in this difficult year for so many people it is a time in which to show more social involvement and more solidarity with the community. For many people this year has been very tough, and unfortunately this is going to continue to be the case next year. We have to be there to help those most in need; today we are here again with the Banco de Alimentos and also with LaLiga to donate food, so that these people can have a little more joy this Christmas,” he said at the event.

The 8-a-side teams from the VCF Academy also made a donation at the non-perishable food collection point set up by LaLiga, which will be transferred to the Banco de Alimentos.
This Thursday, Mestalla will host another event with the food bank, distributing 3,000 menus prepared by World Central Kitchen -the organisation run by chef José Andrés- to 22 associations and NGOs in Valencia.
